Beastman (Brad Eastman) is an artist, designer and photographer based at World's End Studio in Sydney, Australia. Using acrylic and ink he produces intricately detailed artworks on canvas and wood, depicting a parallel world of scaly skinned, bold outlined, beast-like characters struggling to deal with feelings of anger, stress, jealousy, lust, confusion and paranoia.
Years of skateboarding around the streets of Sydney has strongly influenced Beastman's characters, concepts and unique style, developed over a decade of drawing in sketchbooks and shooting photos. Heraldry, family, friendship, human influence on nature, the ocean, violence, symmetry, spirits, birth and the afterlife are all themes which are evident in his artwork.
Beastman has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and London and has been featured in publications such as Empty Magazine, Semi-Permanent, Deadbeat Magazine, Oh Really, Edtn Magazine, Blanket and more. Beastman has designed skateboards and graphics for various brands including Amnesia, Folklore, Mambo and Mingo Lamberti. His 35mm colour and black & white photography has been published in magazines such as ASM and Wooden Toy. |
